The City of Cape Town’s Emerging Artists Programme supports under-resourced artists in the early stage of their careers by providing them with training, mentorship, networking opportunities and exhibition platforms. These efforts equip up and coming artists with the necessary skills and resources to further their creative careers.
Recent initiatives include pop up exhibitions at cultural spaces and events, collaborative partnership with galleries, masterclass covering various creative sectors, and an annual capacity building training focused on building sustainable art careers.
Martin Art Projects has worked closely with the Emerging Artists Programme over the last 3 years and will be curating the booth at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair. The artists selected are all currently working in Cape Town South Africa. Participating artists include Bevan Blankenberg, Fazlin Hoosain, Hari Lualhati, Yamkela Mandlevu and Makhador Ntshongwana
